4 Levels of Dentures to Choose From

The team at EZ Dental provides outstanding general and cosmetic dental services for patients of all ages in and around Bellevue, Washington. Our specialists offer the most advanced dental care available, aimed at keeping your natural smile healthy and beautiful.
But if you’re missing many or all of your teeth, our efforts turn to providing you with the most comfortable, stable, and realistic-appearing dentures possible. Read more about the four types we offer.
1. Partial dentures
Partial dentures replace several missing teeth and may be used anywhere in the upper or lower jaw. Porcelain prosthetic teeth, valued for their durability, are fused to a frame crafted from acrylic or metal. For stability, partial dentures are held in place by small metal clasps that attach to remaining teeth. Each is meticulously crafted to blend with your natural smile in color, size, and shape.
Unless secured permanently with an implant, you remove partial dentures nightly for cleaning. Most individuals adjust quickly to this option.
2. Full dentures
Full dentures replace all the teeth in your upper and lower jaws. The acrylic base is customized to fit snugly over your gums and carefully configured to create a balanced bite. Full dentures provide a reliable chewing surface and help prevent sagging skin around the mouth and cheeks.
The high-quality materials our specialists use here at EZ Dental make it possible to shade the gum portion of the dentures to a realistic hue. Made from porcelain, the prosthetic teeth provide a translucence or shine that closely mimics a natural smile. We’re also careful to shape and size the teeth appropriately for your mouth and facial structure.
It can take a few weeks to adjust to the feel of full dentures. However, our providers are highly skilled at ensuring a stellar fit that restores your smile and ensures confidence that your dentures will remain in place as you speak and chew.
3. Same-day dentures
Same-day dentures are produced in the office by our licensed denturist so you can wear them home. Despite the quick turnaround, these dentures are made from the same high-quality materials and crafted with the same care as the other types we offer.
We do ask that patients who had a tooth extracted at the time their same-day dentures were fitted return for a recheck. Our specialists can quickly adjust the fit of your dentures to compensate for the changes your gums undergo as they heal.
4. Implant-supported dentures
Designed to act like natural tooth roots, implants are made from small titanium posts permanently affixed in your jaw. Implant-supported bridges and dentures are crafted to snap over the implant posts. The denture may be designed to snap on and off or remain permanently attached to the implant post.
The implants stabilize the denture and help keep it in place throughout the normal course of your day. This prevents the slippage that’s sometimes found with traditional dentures. The number of implants vary, but it normally requires two implants in the lower jaw and four in the upper jaw to secure a full set of dentures.
