5 Super-Cool Facts About Invisalign that You Didn't Know

By now, everyone knows that Invisalign is a great way to straighten teeth without a mouthful of metal braces. That’s because modern technology is behind Invisalign’s groundbreaking advances in straightening teeth. Invisalign aligners are fast and far less painful than traditional metal braces.

Our team at EZ Dental Clinic wants you to know these five fascinating facts about Invisalign. Tell your friends, too.

1. Invisalign provides an advance photo

Wouldn’t you love to see how your teeth will look at the end of the Invisalign process? You can.

At the beginning of treatment, we’ll take an impression of your teeth. Then, using computer technology, we can show you an image of what your teeth will look like when your treatment is complete. This prevents any surprises during your final reveal.

2. You’ll have fewer visits

At each visit, we’ll give you several sets of aligner trays, which you’ll wear for about two weeks each. After your initial visit to make sure you’re adjusting well to the aligners, you’ll only have to visit EZ Dental Clinic every 6-8 weeks, when you’ll get the next sets of aligners. Metal braces typically require an adjustment every month.

3. Invisalign uses a 3-D printing process

With Invisalign, dentists use advanced 3-D technology to create aligners that will fit perfectly on your teeth.

The aligner production process is called additive manufacturing and uses light energy from a special laser that penetrates a liquified resin. The resin hardens to the required shape of your new aligners. In just one 3-D print, all of your aligners are manufactured.

Your unique patient ID is printed on each aligner, so you never have to worry about mixups from the lab to your mouth.

4. The aligners contain no harmful plastics

Invisalign aligners are made from thermoplastic, a safe, patented type of plastic called SmartTrackⓇ that contains no harmful BPA or latex. The plastic is smooth, so it doesn’t scratch or poke the inside of your mouth.

5. You get beautiful teeth faster

With Invisalign, you’ll see straighter teeth in less time than you would with metal braces. If you wear your aligners for 20-22 hours each day, you typically see results in 12-18 months, perhaps 50% faster than if you wear metal braces.

Do you want a beautiful, straight smile in half the time, and with a fraction of the pain caused by traditional metal braces? Invisalign may be the perfect solution for you.

Our team at EZ Dental Clinic can explain the process and fit you with the aligners you need to create a Hollywood smile. To book an appointment, call our clinic in Bellevue, Washington, at 425-746-6090, or use our online booking tool.
